Using a fine dermal filler such as Juvéderm® Volbella or Belotero® Balance, fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area (also known as crows feet) can be smoothed out while still maintaining movement.

WHAT ARE CROW'S FEET?
Crow's feet is the term given to the fine lines around the eye area that appear when making particular facial expressions such as smiling. Overtime these lines can remain visible even when we have stopped expressing.
WHAT CAUSES CROW'S FEET?
Our eye area is extremely delicate, with the skin being 40% thinner than elsewhere on our face. As a consequence, it is one of the first areas to show the signs of ageing. The main reasons for these lines appearing include repeated muscle movement (blinking and expressing) and loss of elasticity and collagen in our skin as we age. The speed at which this happens varies from person to person but this can be accelerated by sun damage, free-radical damage and hormone changes.
CAN YOU REDUCE CROW'S FEET?
Traditionally we have always treated crow's feet with Botox® since we are able to limit muscle movement with this treatment and thus reduce the appearance of wrinkles. However it is also important to consider the loss of collagen too and therefore a multi-modal approach is essential. A fine hyaluronic acid dermal filler can be used carefully in this delicate area to help lift and restore the volume loss resulting in a fresher appearance.
