Our team at The Aesthetics Hub® in Crosby includes two very experienced Independent Nurse Prescribers who work full time within medical aesthetics.

Abbey, our lead clinician, has been lucky enough to be amongst an elite group of clinicians who have been invited to receive exclusive training (invitation only) with the globally-recognised Brazilian Plastic Surgeon Mauricio De Maio and his colleagues over the last 6 years. Dr De Maio is the innovator of dermal filler techniques such as the 8-point lift and MD codes™ (Medical Codes) which use strategically placed filler in different injection sites to achieve both direct and indirect results giving volume and structure to the face and achieving a non-surgical facelift without the surgery or downtime.

Helen has also participated in numerous exclusive dermal filler training opportunities and as well as achieving Aesthetic Nurse of the Year in 2017, also sits on the advisory board for Save Face, a government approved National Register of accredited clinicians and more recently has accepted an invitation from Merz to be one of their Innovation Associates.

DERMAL FILLERS

During your consultation our clinician may recommend a staged approach to your tailor-made treatment plan. These treatments are bespoke to you and therefore your treatment plan should be focused on achieving the best result for your facial features and face shape, not a "one-size fits all" approach.

Examples of areas that can be treated with dermal fillers include, cheeks, chin, temple, jawline, smokers lines, nose-to-mouth lines and lip-to jaw lines.

  • Our Dermal Fillers of Choice

The Aesthetics Hub® work with two world-leading pharmaceutical companies who dominate aesthetic medicine: Allergan and Merz produce unique and innovative products within their Juvéderm® and Belotero® range respectively. The dermal fillers from within the ranges focus on helping you achieve natural-looking and long-lasting results containing hyaluronic acid, a substance that already exists within our skin. Hyaluronic acid's function is to keep our skin healthy but as we age it's ability to reproduce declines, therefore hyaluronic acid dermal fillers helps to restore this lost volume.

  • What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a clear gel that not only restores lost volume but also attracts water, which allows the skin to become more hydrated. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers from the Juvéderm® and Belotero® ranges are injected to provide structure and support to the skin.

  • Why Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers?

The Juvéderm® and Belotero® ranges contain a local anaesthetic to make the treatment more comfortable.

Each facial filler from the Juvéderm® and Belotero® range is designed with a different viscosity and particle size, in order to treat the specific area of the face and neck and has the ability to integrate with your tissues to achieve natural results.

FAQs

  • What are dermal fillers?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are a medical device (sometimes referred to as a temporary implant), that is injected into the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in our skin, and it plays a major role in keeping skin hydrated and volumised. The longevity depends on many factors including the area treated and which filler has been used but most people return for maintenance treatments between 6 months and 2 years.

  • Which dermal filler lasts the longest?

Depending on the treatment area and the patients' clinical presentation we often recommend maintenance treatments to take place between 6 months and 2 years. During your consultation when we discuss your treatment plan we will also inform you about the expected longevity and maintenance planning for your treatments so you can plan for future treatments.

  • Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are considered safe providing the treatment is carried out in a clinical environment by an experienced and suitably qualified clinician. As with all treatments, there are risks associated with dermal fillers and these will be discussed in full with you during your consultation.

  • Is dermal filler the same as Botox® ?

No, Botox® targets the muscle whereas dermal fillers support the tissue. These treatments are completely different in their mode of action.
