Clinic Owner and Lead Clinician
The Aesthetics Hub® in Liverpool, was founded and is run by Abbey McLaughlin, a qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), Abbey has a top-class honours Degree in Nursing from the University of Manchester and had over 10 years’ of experience working in the NHS on Intensive Care Units and as a specialist Nurse within the community before leaving to concentrate on aesthetics full time in 2016.
Abbey is highly experienced in aesthetic practice and has completed thousands of treatments since 2011 on patients who travel from all over the UK to our Liverpool clinic. Abbey leads a dynamic team who embrace her multifaceted and holistic ethos. She believes that a multi-modal approach is integral to obtaining optimal facial balance and natural enhancement and the safety of patients is at the forefront of our treatments. Abbey is an active member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) and the Aesthetic Complications Expert (ACE) group.
In her spare time, Abbey can be found running around after her two young children and once they're tucked up in bed, relaxing in the evenings with her other half, Wayne - usually engrossed in a TV series!
Registered General Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber
Helen trained as both a general nurse and a midwife, with a nursing career that spans over 38 years, qualifying in 1987, during this time gaining experience in oncology, community nursing, general practice and maternity care. Helen became an Independent Nurse prescriber in 2009 and is one of only a small number of clinicians in aesthetic medicine with a formally recognised post-graduate qualification which she gained from Northumbria University and has also been involved mentoring students undertaking this MSc program.
Helen has been working in Aesthetic Medicine since 2008, during this time Helen was responsible for setting up and running the nurse-led aesthetics clinic at Spire Hospital Liverpool which she ran for 4 years alongside her own business Fresh Faces by Helen Blanchard. Motivated by patient safety and the safety of clinicians working within the speciality she has always been active in trying to improve standards, good practice and sharing knowledge; Helen is now one of the Nurse Advisors on the Save Face Advisory Board.
On a personal note Helen is a mum of 4, nanny of 1, wife of a very long time and big-time outdoor pursuits lover, namely sailing which she has done competitively for many years and skiing which is done for fun.
THE CLINIC
Located in the beautiful village of Crosby, just 6 miles from Liverpool City Centre, our clinic is situated within the Glenn Buildings in Crosby Village. Built in 1936, on one of the oldest roads in Crosby, the Glenn Buildings epitomise the art deco design of that period with accentuated lines, bold patterns and monochrome colour. Our clinic was designed to incorporate the feel of the art deco façade into a state of the art aesthetics clinic, creating a luxurious and welcoming place to visit.
