Dr De Maio is the innovator of techniques such as the 8-point lift and MD Codes™ (Medical Codes) which use strategically placed filler in different injection sites to achieve both direct and indirect results giving volume and structure to the face and achieving a non-surgical facelift without the surgery or downtime.

HOW DOES THE FACE AGE?

When patients present in our clinic in Crosby for their consultation they often seek correction of individual lines and folds but it is important that we assess why these lines and folds have appeared in the first place, treating the cause rather than the line itself.

The first signs of ageing become apparent between the ages of 20 and 30 and increase over the subsequent decades. The skin, soft tissue and skeleton changes; A combination of gravity, volume loss in areas of the face that were once full, bone resorption (bone loss) decreased tissue elasticity and redistribution of fat pads occurs. Despite our individuality, facial ageing shows a distinct pattern amongst us all and includes a flattening of the cheeks, hollowing in the sub-malar (under the cheek bone) region and the under-eye area, deeper nasolabial folds, the appearance of marionettes and down-turned smile, thinner lips, sagging of the tissue in the jawline and chin recession.

Faces show a variety of emotions and messages and patients often present explaining that these are not a true reflection of their feelings as a result of the ageing process. For example looking tired, or sad or angry, others want to feel lifted if they feel saggy. These concerns cannot be resolved by simply injecting one area on its own since the problem is often as a result of several ageing areas.

At The Aesthetics Hub® in Crosby, our clinicians takes a holistic approach to facial assessment, the liquid face lift involves the use of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers injected as either the 8-point lift or a combination of MD (Medical) Codes™️ to help rejuvenate the face and restore the lost volume, in turn lifting and pulling-back to help reverse the ageing process. This method uses a specific technique with precise injection points and low volume of product. Every patient is different, so the number of sites injected and the amount of dermal filler used will vary with each patient.

Dermal filler treatment should be subtle and natural, no-one should have the "pillow-faced" look and people should compliment you on how "fresh" you look without knowing you have had a treatment.

FAQs

  • How much is the liquid face lift?

    We will be able to provide an indication of the cost of your treatment plan during your consultation. The amount of filler required to achieve the desired effect varies from person to person and factors that can influence this amount includes age of the patient, amount of volume loss and lifestyle choices.

  • How much filler will I need for my liquid facelift?

    The amount of filler required to achieve the desired effect varies from person to person and factors that can influence this amount includes age of the patient, amount of volume loss and lifestyle choices. To provide a little insight, here are the results of an audit completed in 2019 in collaboration with Allergan, which shows the average amount of filler required to achieve results when treating the whole face depending on the age bracket:

    Patient's age = Average volume used

    30's = 4mls

    40's = 8mls

    50's = 12mls

    60's = 16mls

  • What is better facelift or fillers?

    For some patients a surgical facelift may be the best option to achieve their results. Most patients who have had a surgical face-lift then go on to maintain their results using dermal fillers.  For others, dermal fillers may be more suitable without the need for a general anaesthetic, less down-time, less risk factors and more affordable with very similar outcomes.
