Hollowing of the temples due to volume loss is a natural part of the ageing process. This leads to less structural support in the temple area, which results in a lower tail-end of the eyebrow compared to when we were younger, as well as folds, wrinkles and volume loss around the eye area. Dermal fillers can be used to replace the lost volume and provide essential support in this area and beyond.
WHY PUT FILLER IN TEMPLES?
Your temples are situated near the tail end of your eye-brows on the flat side of your head, often where you may press or massage to relieve a headache or 'brain freeze' after eating something too cold.
Typically the process of hollowing of the temples starts in your mid 20’s and becomes more obvious in your 40’s. If you road-run, grind your teeth or chew excessively the hollowing can be exacerbated.
Dermal fillers volumise the temple hollow by directly filling the space and 'replacing' the lost fat pads in that area. This gives the immediate appearance of a ‘mini face lift’ by stretching and lifting the skin around the upper area of the eye as well as improving facial structure and also lifting the cheeks.
