Not all IPLs are created equal; The Lynton EXCELIGHT®, made in Britain by the UK’s No.1 IPL manufacturer and leading NHS supplier, is a certified medical device under the Medical Devices Directive. Dermatologists and clinical teams in the NHS also use Lynton IPL because of the amazing clinical results they can achieve safely and effectively using this technology.

The Lynton EXCELIGHT® IPL is delivered with DynamicReflex® Technology, a unique technology developed through many years of PhD research and 25 years of manufacturing expertise. With DynamicReflex® Technology, we can achieve above and beyond the expected results on difficult skin conditions with superior high energy pulses.

HOW DOES INTENSE PULSE LIGHT (IPL) HELP ACNE?

Light emitted directly targets the  overactive sebaceous glands, greatly reducing the total number and severity of active lesions. This lessens inflammation and frequency of breakouts. The light stimulates the production of new collagen to improve skin texture, scarring and can also reduce the appearance of red or brown areas of skin that are often associated with acne breakouts.

WHERE DOES IPL ACNE TREATMENT WORK?

The face and body can be treated;  We offer safe and effective acne treatments for men and women. All acne treatments start with an advanced consultation so we can create a personalised treatment plan just for you.

IS IPL TREATMENT FOR ACNE PAINFUL?

Treatment is mildly uncomfortable  but there is no need for anaesthestic and the procedure is actually quite quick. Sensations vary but most people describe the treatment as feeling like a very quick, hot pinprick.

FAQs

  • How many IPL acne treatment sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required varies from patient to patient and is dependent on many factors. Though results can be seen after a few treatments, a minimum of 4 and up to 8 treatments, at 4-week intervals, deliver the best results.

  • Who is suitable for IPL acne treatment?

Almost everyone can be treated, apart from tanned individuals and those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are taking Roaccutane (an acne medication) it is best not to undergo treatment until you have been off the medication for a minimum of 6 months and there will be certain topical skincare that needs to be stopped for a period of time prior to treatment.
