HOW DOES EYELASH GROWTH SERUM WORK?

The Aesthetics Hub® provide this clinically proven prescription-only eyelash serum following a consultation with one of our Independent Nurse Prescribers. 

The eyelash serum, manufactured by Allergan, is known as Lumigan or Lattisse® and is an FDA approved treatment for those patients who have inadequate or not enough lashes. Patients often attend consultation following years of eyelash extension use which has left their natural lashes broken, damaged and thin. Others may present because they have never had full lashes in the first place or have noticed their lashes have diminished over the years. 

The eyelash growth serum is applied to the upper eyelash line before bed and the serum stimulates the hair follicles whilst you sleep.

As with all prescription-only medications it is essential that you have an initial consultation with one of our Independent Nurse Prescribers who will be able to carry out a full clinical assessment and diagnosis, discuss with you the risks and benefits of treatment and ensure their are no contraindications to you using our eyelash serum.

  • Do eyelash growth serums really work?

    Yes; In order for a lash serum to really make a difference, it has to affect the growth cycle of the hair. Latisse® (Lumigan),  is the only FDA-approved treatment proven to make eyelashes grow. It can extends the anagen growth phase and it is clinically proved to be effective

  • Are eyelash growth serums considered safe?

    Yes; This FDA approved eyelash growth serum has been studied for safety and efficacy and is available only by prescription. The most common side effects after using LATISSE® solution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. Although rare, there have been reports of darkening of the Iris by some patients across the World. 

  • Can I use this eyelash growth serum if I wear contact lenses?

    Yes, however you should remove your contact lenses prior to applying your eyelash growth serum to your lashes. If you need to put your contact lenses back in after application it is advisable to wait a minimum of 15 minutes first. 

  • Can men use the eyelash growth serum?

    Yes, providing there are no contraindications during your consultation it is safe for both men and women to use this eyelash growth serum.

  • What are the ingredients of the eyelash growth serum?

    Active ingredient: bimatoprost.

    Inactive ingredient: benzalkonium chloride; sodium chloride; sodium phosphate, dibasic; citric acid; and purified water. Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid may be added to adjust pH. The pH during its shelf life ranges from 6.8 – 7.8.

  • If I apply more eyelash growth serum to my lashes will I get faster results?

    No, the eyelash growth serum works gradually over a 16 week period. It is important you follow the application instructions if this serum is prescibed for you. Any excess serum should be blotted with a paper tissue. 

  • Can I share my eyelash growth serum with a friend?

    No, It is important that only the person who the serum has been prescribed for uses it and it is not shared. If your friend is interested in trying the treatment they will need to book their own consultation with our Indepenent Nurse prescriber in order to receive their own prescription.
